Little My is fiery and independent – a tiny character with an enormous personality! Known for her sharp tongue, quick temper and mischievous nature, she seems to thrive in dangerous situations and sometimes takes pleasure in the small misfortunes that befall others.
…But still, Little My is loyal, protective, and an honest friend, and her bravery makes her a good person to have around in a crisis. She lives with the Moomins in the Moominhouse.
Little My loves drama and adventure and is ready for any situation that comes her way. New experiences don’t faze her – she is content to take her chances floating away in a biscuit tin in Moominsummer Madness (1954) and is soon off exploring her new island home in Moominpappa at Sea (1965).
“Little My never shies away from a difficult situation.”
She can be a little irritable and enjoys teasing the others, but she never shies away from a difficult situation and often does things her friends are unwilling or unable to do. For example, in Moominpappa at Sea (1965), she clears the glade of ants for Moomintroll, who wishes the ants to be gone but doesn’t want the guilt of harming them on his conscience. She can be very blunt and sometimes tells people things that they don’t want to hear, but she is also always willing to offer solutions to other people’s problems. She readily shares suggestions for how to help the Invisible Child, Ninny, and often comes up with ideas others wouldn’t have.
